Motion detection
Activity sensors, such as Alarm Pods, SensePlugs and SensePods, work together to continuously sense motion in your place. This process steadily produces estimations of the level of activity in the covered area.
A sensitivity level parameter is then applied to determine when motion actually starts and stops. The lower the sensitivity, the longer and more intense activity is required to trigger a motion detection, and vice versa.
There are 3 sensitivity levels in total:
- Low – Detects only large movements. Best if you have pets, ceiling fans, or robot vacuums.
- Medium – The default setting. Detects most typical movements.
- High – Detects even small movements. Not recommended if you have pets, fans, or robot vacuums, as it may cause false alerts.
Motion graphs
Motion Now graph
You may visualize live motion on the 30-second graph, also known as the Motion Now graph.
It shows you in real time both the continuous activity level estimation (graph), as well as the motion detection status based on the sensitivity level (text).
It's useful to better understand how motion is sensed by your devices, and assess whether the sensitivity level is adapted to your needs.
You can access this graph anytime, even remotely.
Motion History graph
You may visualize the motion detection status in your place and zones over time on the Motion History graph.
It shows you recorded motion detection status based on the sensitivity level.
It's useful to check if some activity was detected in your place at a specific moment in the past.
