nami system supports a sensitivity setting, allowing you to tune the reactivity and the accuracy of your monitoring system. The sensing algorithm use a sliding window to interpret motion events, filtering parasite sources of motion like wind, vacuum bots or small pets.
Where to access my sensitivity setting
Open the nami app and go to your place settings. There, you will see a line "Sensitivity".
Tap on it and it will open the sensitivity setting screen. Adjust the sensitivity according to your need (find more information below) and tap on the save button.
Sensitivity scale
The lower the sensitivity (1 being the lower sensitivity), the longer will be the sliding window. That means that the object will have move continuously for a long time (45 seconds) before triggering a detection.
The higher the sensitivity (12 being the highest sensitivity), the shorter will be the sliding window. The objects will have to move for a short amount of time (10 seconds) before triggering a detection.
Here is the detailed table of delay for each level. To trigger a detection, motion has to be detected during at least 50% of the sliding window. Do adjust depending on your system usage and home environment (if you have pets or bots).
Sensitivity level | Sliding window length (in seconds) |
1 | 40 |
2 | 35 |
3 | 30 |
4 | 35 |
5 | 30 |
6 | 25 |
7 | 30 |
8 | 25 |
9 | 20 |
10 | 10 |
11 | 5 |
12 | 5 |
Note that the sliding window uses other parameters to filter out motion events, which explains why the window length do no decrease linearly with the sensitivity.
Recommended sensitivity
Depending on your home parameters (are there pets or vacuum bots), you will be able to use different sensitivities. Overall, we recommended to use the level 7 which will fit most configurations.
