The Alarm Pod is a key device for securing your home. It serves two main purposes:
- Deterrence: It emits a loud sound up to 95 decibels to deter burglars
- Motion Detection: It also functions as a motion detector
If you have multiple Alarm Pods installed, all of them will sound when an intrusion is detected.
1. Log in to Lookout24 app
Use the app to set up your Alarm Pod, either as part of a pack (recommended) or as a single device.
Simply tap "Set up my system" on your place homepage if no devices are currently set up. If you already have devices, tap "Add devices" in the ⚙️ Settings menu.
2. Select or create a zone
Select an existing zone if you want to expand it or create a new zone instead.
3. Specify the room where your device will be placed
Select an existing room or create a new one to indicate where your Alarm Pod will be placed.
4. Scan the QR code of your device
First, ensure your Alarm Pod is not connected to power. Next, remove the back cover by twisting it anti-clockwise to reveal the QR code for scanning.
5. Connect your device to a power outlet
After scanning the QR code of your Alarm Pod, you can now plug it to a power outlet.
The Alarm Pod comes with a standard power adapter and USB A to C cable that supplies 10W of power. Please use the supplied power adapter & USB cable to ensure the device functions optimally.
If your device cannot be found, it might not be pulsing blue to indicate it's in pairing mode. If so, please follow these steps to reset it: How to manually reset an Alarm Pod.
6. Name your device
A default name will be provided, but you can choose a different one if you prefer.
7. Install your Alarm Pod
The Alarm Pod can be mounted on a wall, ceiling, or furniture. Ideally, place it in a discreet location to avoid it being tampered with during an intrusion.
-
- If installing in a new zone: place it within 30ft of your front door and Wi-Fi access point
-
- If installing in a zone that already has device(s) setup: place it between 10-30ft from all activity sensors and within 30ft of the selected door if you have a Door Sensor
8. Test your siren
- If you are setting up your Alarm Pod as part of a kit, the app will prompt you to test your device at the end of the setup. Tap "Sound siren" to activate the alarm's sound
9. Always keep your Alarm Pod plugged in!
- Make sure the Alarm Pod stays plugged in at all times so it can detect motion and stay active during an intrusion
- If set up in a new zone, it will act as the Border Router, ensuring other devices in the zone work correctly. If unplugged, it may affect other devices
- You will receive a push notification if the Alarm Pod is disconnected, and you can always check its status in the app
